Schuster Concrete is Hiring a Quality Control Technician Near Frederick, MD
They will report to the Quality Control Manager / General Manager and will be responsible to ensure that the concrete shipped and placed meets or exceeds design specifications. This position will require a flexible schedule and may require traveling within the Baltimore/Washington area.
- Conduct moisture samples for raw materials on a prescribed schedule (daily/hourly) as determined by the QC Manager and communicate results to Plant Manager and/or production employees.
- Conduct concrete air and slump tests as needed or prescribed
- Create concrete test cylinders as needed or prescribed and deliver them to the test laboratory for analysis.
- Produce documentation on paper or electronically as necessary.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- ACI Level 1 Certification for Concrete and/or Maryland State Highway Certified Concrete Technician
- Previous experience with and knowledge of concrete and concrete production
- Strong math and analytical skills required to calculate mix constituent requirements, particularly regarding unit of measure conversions, percentages, weights, and volumes.
